Politicians should not hijack the process. They should instead allow the public to read and digest the document and make an independent decision on whether or not it should be adopted as drafted by the CoE or it be amended.
Unfortunately, most Kenyans don't plan for themselves but for a few leaders.
The country will be better when we will realise that we should be planning for the future and for the benefit of kenyans, not tribal chiefs on the throne today.

Kenyans have been longing for a better new constitution. Now that the draft has come out, views are proposal are are good but not all proposals by individuals or organisations should be considered. Some are quite partial with vested insterests, such ones should be totally ignored. It is also clear that not all can be satisfied. If the majority like the constitution then lets by it. Other sections can be amended later on, but for now lets not waste time on making or proposing unneccessary amendiments.

For sure the draft constitution may just require a few ammendments but we find individuals or even groups now introducing issues they never presented during the initial stages when the draft was being compiled. All Kenyans must also actually stop seeing it as a Kibaki/Raila thing. The document is meant to be one that will stand the test of time.

As it is, the Kenyan constitution process is not targeting posterity. Instead, it is pitted against the Orange Democratic movement and Party of National Unity. Friends, this draft constitution will have far reaching effects to the future generations if not well articulated. Lets stop politicizing the process. Raila and Kibaki are only leaders of today, they will not be there tomorrow to benefit from this draft constitution.
